2010 Census Participation

I am calling on every individual living in Harris and contiguous counties, whether a citizen or not; to participate in the 2010 Census count.

We cannot get stuck on labels and descriptions in the questionnaire. Such diversions are designed to distract us from the real goal—to get money back to your community. Besides, we should hold our current Congressional leadership responsible for having allowed such a disruptive label to be included on the form in the first place.

As a resident of the 18th Congressional District have a two-fold responsibility. First, you must stand up and “be counted.” Second, you must hold your current Member of Congress accountable for not having earmarked enough of that money; and not generating real legislation to benefit you.

You are concerned that local officials have not done more to change the faces of your neighborhoods, to educate our youth, or to stimulate business and job development. We need Congress to bring us more money to work with.

If you send me to Congress I will make it my priority to make sure that the 18th Congressional District gets its fair share from the Census count.
